Description
London Northwestern & West Midlands Railways are seeking an energetic, driven Sales and Partnerships Manager to join our fast‑paced Sales and Marketing team on a 12‑month maternity cover contract.In this high‑energy role, you will manage and develop our core travel products—specifically the Business Travel Product and the Discounted Student Travel Product—ensuring delivery of ambitious revenue targets. You will be instrumental in identifying new revenue opportunities, managing commercial partnerships, and strengthening existing collaborations.
This position involves attending business and student events, including evenings and occasional weekends. Access to your own transport is essential, as you will represent London Northwestern & West Midlands Railways across the network and support event set‑up where needed.
You will collaborate closely with the wider Sales, Marketing, and internal business teams, contributing to innovative, insight‑led projects, campaigns, and partnership activity.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver revenue targets across the Business Travel and Student Travel products in line with the Business Delivery Plan.
- Identify and drive new ancillary revenue opportunities and partnership connections, supporting the Senior Sales & Partnerships Manager where required.
- Manage product and campaign budgets, ensuring accurate period-by-period reporting of sales and partnership activity.
- Book, manage, and attend a busy calendar of business‑focused and student‑focused events—building new connections and maintaining existing commercial relationships.
- Share sector insight and work closely with the Marketing team to deliver relevant, data-driven campaign activity.
- Maximise London Northwestern & West Midlands Railways marketing reach through all paid partnerships and collaborations.
- Provide administrative support to the business fulfilment function (e.g., customer enquiries, ticket printing, invoicing) when required.
- Represent London Northwestern & West Midlands Railways at industry functions and travel product events, including evening and weekend work.
Skills, Knowledge and Expertise
Experience & Knowledge
- Significant sales experience (5+ years) in a fast-paced sales or marketing environment.
- Proven experience managing multiple accounts, product lines, or customer relationships.
- Comfortable working to and reporting against sales targets.
- Strong networking experience and confidence engaging face-to-face with customers, partners, and stakeholders.
- Confident presenting in person and via TEAMS.
- Highly organised with the ability to balance multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
- Strong written communication skills with the ability to convey ideas creatively and clearly.
- Creative flair with a desire to support marketing plans linked to travel products and ancillary revenue streams.
- Degree-level education or equivalent experience
- Full UK driving licence and access to a car (essential) due to regular travel and event commitments.
- Personable, articulate, and confident working with a wide range of stakeholders.
- Highly energised, outgoing individual who thrives in fast-paced environments and enjoys attending events.
- Self-starter with strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work calmly under pressure.
- Flexible approach to evening and weekend working where required.
