The RoleWe’re looking for a Travel Booker / Travel Coordinator to join our Finance team in Manchester. This role plays a vital part in supporting our people by managing UK and international travel requirements while assisting the finance team with cost control, accurate reporting, reconciliations, and day-to-day financial tasks.
It’s an ideal opportunity for someone highly organised, detail-driven, and calm under pressure, who enjoys working with a wide range of stakeholders and keeping things running smoothly behind the scenes.
What You’ll Be Doing- Arrange and book domestic and international travel for employees, including flights, accommodation and other travel related expenses.
- Collaborate with teams and department managers to understand travel needs, budgets, and corporate travel guidelines.
- Stay current on travel regulations, company travel policies, visa requirements, and health and safety protocols.
- Communicate with preferred suppliers (airlines, hotels, car rental companies) to secure corporate rates and facilitate smooth arrangements.
- Manage last-minute changes, cancellations, and travel emergencies, providing prompt support to travelling staff.
- Track and maintain accurate records of bookings and travel expenses using company-approved software and reporting systems.
- Support post-travel reporting, expense reconciliation, and respond to employee queries regarding travel experiences.
- Provide general support to the Accounting Department, assisting with financial processes and administrative tasks.
- Strong organisational and multitasking abilities, with a keen eye for detail.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, able to interact with employees at all levels.
- Competence in travel management platforms, reservation systems, and office software.
- Discretion in handling sensitive information and staff travel data.
- Problem-solving skills and composure under pressure, especially during travel disruptions.
- Up-to-date knowledge of travel destinations, suppliers, and corporate travel best practices.
- Flexibility to respond to urgent travel needs outside standard working hours.
- Prior experience organising business travel or in a similar internal role is advantageous.
